Security Engineer (Application Security Focus)Were seeking a highly motivated Security Engineer to join our growing security organization as the second dedicated member of the team, reporting directly to the CISO. This is a hands-on, highly technical role with a primary focus on Application Security, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys building security programs from the ground up.About the RoleIn this position, youll champion new security initiatives, lead implementations, and evaluate emerging tools and technologies. You should be comfortable working independently when needed, while also partnering closely with both technical and non-technical teams to drive adoption, improve processes, and strengthen overall security posture.You will collaborate with a 6-person IT group across Operations and Applications, participating in daily standups and contributing to cross-functional efforts. While a networking background is beneficial, this is not a networking rolesecurity expertise, especially in AppSec and cloud (Azure), is essential.Candidates coming from an MSSP environment are strongly encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesLead and execute application security initiatives and projectsImplement new security tools, solutions, and technologiesDrive incident response efforts and coordinate with internal teams and external vendorsDevelop and maintain security policies, standards, and proceduresProduce clear technical documentation and process guidesManage tool rollouts, configurations, and ongoing optimizationPartner with engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to promote security best practicesConduct hands-on engineering work across cloud and application environmentsResearch, evaluate, and recommend future security technologiesCollaborate with the broader IT team in daily standups and joint projectsQualificationsStrong background in Application Security and hands-on technical implementationExperience with Azure cloud securityPrior experience in an MSSP or similarly fast-paced, multi-client environment (preferred)Ability to work autonomously, take ownership, and drive initiatives forwardExcellent communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical teamsNetworking knowledge beneficial but not requiredGIAC certification preferred (any above entry-level considered strong)
