Additionally, DRS Marlo Coil is positioned for significant growth in the Industrial/Commercial markets.For more information on Leonardo DRS, please visitwww.leonardodrs.com, and for more information on our Commercial/Industrial business, please visit:www.marlocoil.comJob ResponsibilitiesResponsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule and within budgetFollow written work instructionsWork under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that are frequently non-routine, adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needsMay perform more detailed tasks requiring deeper knowledge and experience in the specified processes and proceduresRely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goalsAble to effectively communicate with other functional departments, such as Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Sales departmentsResolve most questions and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher levelsServe as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issuesBe a self-starter and demonstrate good decision making abilityMust maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS)Proper use of required PPEMay periodically assist in orienting and training lower level employeesMay participate in LEAN Events, "Six S" activities, action teams etc.Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationUnderstand requirements, possess appropriate skills, and perform various welding processes in all positions on products of all applicable metalsWeld with a high degree of proficiency, experience and knowledge, able to meet various codes and specifications including AWS and ASMEKnow, qualify and perform the following: MIG: carbon steels, stainless steel, and aluminum and combination; TIG: carbon steels, stainless steel, aluminum, and combination; Submerge ARC: carbon steels, stainless steel, and combination; SMAW: carbon steels, stainless steel, and combinationPerform material preparation, open set-up and fit to meet process requirements proficiently in all required operationsRead blueprints, weld symbols and NDE symbols and interpret acceptance criteriaCoordinate effective communication regarding production processes with other departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and SalesAccurately perform visual inspection of weldments to confirm compliance to various codes and standardsPerform daily and weekly maintenance on all equipmentShare technical requirements, techniques, safety information, etc with peersQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in weldingU.S. Citizenship required.Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
