We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.DescriptionThe Senior Associate Director Programs position primarily provides program management to the Finance and Business Operations team Data and Specimen Use access determination and process management Human Resource coordination for the CHAMPS program office and strategic support to the Sr Director of Finance and Business Operations and the Finance and Business Operations (FAB) team in the Program Office. The position works under the broad guidance of the Sr Director of Finance and Business OperationsKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Knowledge and experience working in global health programsKnowledge and experience working with Data Use Agreements and IRBsExperience with international travel and coordinating travelersSuperior organizational analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience managing program operations and multitaskingKnowledge and experience working on strategic planning activitiesAbility to effectively communicate in a variety of communication settings: one- on-one small and large groupsAbility in working with all levels of staff and with teamsExceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsExceptional software skills (i.e. Power Point Excel)Ability to effectively coordinate and facilitate meetingsMust be comfortable with domestic and international travelCommitment to personal and professional growthDirects the strategic planning development and implementation of a program. Serves as a liaison and key spokesperson to various committees and organizations. Responds to inquiries and assists in promoting the program. Assists with policy formulation strategy development and the management of daily operations. May collaborate with representatives from private government and international agencies. Conducts research designs new initiatives and writes publishable articles and papers. May supervise staff.FOCUS AREA RESPONSIBILITIES % (EST):Business Operations Identify FAB team priorities activities and deliverables and assign and track tasks for completionDevelop coordinate the annual update and monitor compliance of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) across the CHAMPS Program OfficeProvide the logistics and operations support/oversight to CHAMPS Global Partners Board Meeting and Site Network meeting.Providing critical program oversight to ensure that all international travel arrangements meet Emory requirements and are in full compliance with donor regulation while striving for the most efficient travel optionMonitor the security situations in each CHAMPS site and travel routes updating a travelers security guideProvide guidance and oversight for in-office meeting needsConduct literature reviews; synthesize and summarize literature surrounding global operations implementationHuman Resources (30%): Provide guidance and oversight for onboarding and offboarding processes for all CHAMPS staff ensuring consistent implementation across all partner organizations including Mauve Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and other partner organizationsProvide Human Resource support supervisors across the CHAMPS program office with needed guidance on job description development interview evaluations and selected candidate documentationProvide guidance to Task Force resources around in-office support for staff in regards to space needs technology room booking facilities tickets and other in-office needsCoordinate and/or conduct trainings on essential workplace tools and services across the program officeData Access Management (15%):Coordinate the data requests from the Gates Foundation and other possible donors the program office and other domestic and international stakeholdersTriage the data requests to determine the level of data required and coordinate the execution of DUAs MTAs and other agreementsWork withTask Force for Global Healthr to update existingtemplates as neededProvides strategic oversight and project management support for the re-organization of the Data Access Working Group ensure timely follow-up on action items develop strategic agendas and routine communication updatesManage interaction and coordination with internationalorganizationsProgram Management (15%): Responsible for communicating sharing and transferring knowledge to colleagues and customersDevelops and provides effective informational and motivational presentationsBuilds consensus among global partners and collaborativeparticipantsRepresents CHAMPS across TFGH and Internationally as neededParticipate fully as a member of CHAMPS program office bycontributing assisting and participating in projects initiatives and activities as requested by leadershipManage and maintain the SmartSheet system for the PO.Coordinate accounts training and resource needs. Coordinate with finance team to ensure appropriate licensing is assessed and maintained.Project Management (20%): Provides strategic oversight and project management support for the discrete projects such as vaccine effectiveness. Ensures timely follow-up on action items assistance with budget items develop strategic agendas and maintain routine communication updates.Create maintain and communicate changes to program office work plans such as implementation planning and strategic planning; partnering with the other program office units and leadership team. TRAVEL:1-2 times/yearMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in a field related to the program and seven years of professional experience related to the program and previous supervisory and program/project management experience OR equivalent combination of experience education and training. Masters degree preferred.NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA.
