We hope you will join us.OverviewWe are looking for a diligent and highly motivated individual to join the growing Cypress tax department. The Senior Tax Associate will report directly to the Senior Tax Manager and will be primarily focused on meeting the Companys tax compliance and reporting needs as well as assisting in development opportunities. The ideal candidate is a team player who has experience with tax return preparation tax provision a strong understanding of common tax laws and regulations and knowledgeable in accounting principles.ResponsibilitiesAssist with coordinating and ensuring the timely filing of the Companys federal state and local income tax returns including reviewing the workpapers prepared by external advisorsPrepare federal and state quarterly estimated tax paymentsAssist in preparation and review of HLBVcalculationsCompile supporting financial statements and documentsAssist with tax research projects and preparing memosAssist in the resolution of federal state and local tax notices and auditsAssist with other tax compliance and reporting projects as neededMaintain document and develop income tax related internal controlsIdentify and implement best practice process improvements across the tax functionPerform other duties as requested by managementEducation & Experience RequiredBS in Accounting or Tax MS in Tax is a plusCPA license strongly preferredMinimum 2-3 years of relevant tax experience with large corporate or public accounting firmBig4 experience strongly preferredSolar or other renewable energy experience is a plusMust be detail oriented resourceful and organizedAbility to multi-task and work in tight time frames and deadlinesExcellent oral and written communication skillsMust be a self-starter who handles multiple projects with competing priorities with minimal supervisionPeople management and development experienceMust be detail oriented resourceful and organizedAbility to multi-task and work in tight time frames and deadlinesEffectively communicates with regulatory agencies tax reviewers state local independent auditors attorneys peers and all levels of corporate managementMust be a self-starter who handles multiple projects with competing priorities with minimum supervisionLocation: The preferred location for this role is one of our office locations: Washington DC. Our team operates on a hybrid schedule with in-office schedule of three days per week.Compensation: The salary range for the position is $100000-$130000 plus bonus and benefits.
