We are driven by our core values: respect innovation and collaboration. About the RoleThe Senior Billing Manager is an integral part of Lathams Office Accounting team. This role will be responsible for supporting the office(s) by leveraging their knowledge and experience of generally accepted billing and revenue management procedures and policies to contribute to and support the firms revenue management objectives while overseeing the end-to-end billing process in the practice office(s) including billing and collection efforts. This role will be located in our New Yorkoffice. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.Responsibilities & QualificationsOther key responsibilities include:Acting as a subject matter expert to billing attorneys senior office and department leadership and the Finance CommitteeCoordinating with the Global Billing team to implement and administer firmwide billing and inventory management best practices and procedures and to roll out new software and financial system upgradesProviding interpretation guidance and assistance to attorneys paralegals and staff regarding all aspects of the firms billing and collections processesActing as a liaison with local Finance Committee members in support of Finance Committee objectives facilitating the preparation and participation of Finance Committee calls and facilitating any actionable next steps resulting from calls with close coordination with the Global Finance Department team supporting the CommitteeMaintaining a continuing review of revenue-related procedures to assess areas for improved efficiency and resource allocation and proactively suggesting new processes and solutions as needed to achieve the firms financial business objectivesProtecting and maintaining any highly sensitive confidential privileged financial and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retainsWed love to hear from you if you:Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of the firms billing system or the ability to develop such knowledge and understandingExhibit well-developed and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firmDemonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focusAnd have:A bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related fieldA minimum of ten (10) years of increasingly complex accounting experience including a minimum of four (4) years in law firm billing processes and practicesBenefits & Additional InformationSuccessful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
