Senior Building & Grounds Servicer Facilities, Planning, and Management at University of Tennessee

DescriptionThe Senior Building and Grounds Servicer oversees and participates in the preparation development and care of grounds drives walks and parking areas; and participates in planting and maintenance of ornamental bedding areas trees lawns and landscaping projects.ResponsibilitiesOperates and maintains specialized groundskeeping equipment in the performance of various maintenance and landscaping tasks including operation of tractors loaders mowers blowers backhoe tillers aerifiers gas trimmers saws and prunersCleans and maintains lawns streets walks parking areas etc. including removal of snow ice litter leaves and other debrisPerforms specialized tasks associated with grounds maintenance and landscaping such as planting fertilizing watering pruning cultivating weeding cutting trimming and shapingAssists in the maintenance of athletic/recreational fieldsAssists in minor duties in Motorpool to include servicing customers at the gasoline pumpsThe ideal candidate will possess the following:Ability to safely operate machinery tools and equipment used in the performance of tasks assigned to this position (mowers weed eaters trimmers blowers pruners saws etc.)Ability to recognize plant conditions for proper care and reportingThe review of applications will beginDecember 29 2025and continue until the position is filled.QualificationsMinimum:Typically requires a high school diploma and six months of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education training and experience.Preferred:One year of experience in the landscape industry and/or 3 years experience with large scale landscape company or university setting.Required Experience:Senior IC Key Skills Crisis Management,Groundskeeping,Lawn Care,Management Experience,Facilities Management,Landscape Maintenance,Horticulture,Irrigation,Maintenance,Operations Management,Gardening,Supervising Experience Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
