Federally designated as a senior military college, one of the university's signature leadership programs is its 800-member Corps of Cadets on UNG's Dahlonega Campus.Job Summary The Senior Case Manager serves as the lead non-clinical (non-confidential) case manager for Student Care and Outreach and acts as the primary case manager for the university's Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). BIT is a multidisciplinary group that responds to students exhibiting disruptive, troubling, or threatening behavior toward themselves or others. This role requires sound judgment, compassion, and a student-centered approach to addressing referrals and coordinating care. Located on the Dahlonega campus, the Senior Case Manager supports students across all six UNG campuses, including online learners, and reports to the Associate Dean for Student Care and Outreach. This position is guided by UNG's Students First. Always. commitment and supports the Division for Student Engagement and Success's four pillars of student success: Sense of Purpose, Belonging and Engagement, Academic Achievement, and Well-being.In alignment with the Office of the Dean of Students' mission, the Senior Case Manager advocates for and supports students as they pursue their goals at UNG. The role helps students navigate complex life circumstances, university policies, and processes, while promoting integrity, safety, and well-being across the campus community. Responsibilities Serve as standing member of BIT for all UNG campuses; attend all scheduled BIT meetings, assist with preparing BIT agendas, present relevant cases, and coordinate direct student care efforts through the BIT structure.Manage a caseload ranging from mild to critical level concerns, providing consistent follow up to students and referring parties and assist with triaging of cases reported to Office of the Dean of Students.Facilitate referrals for treatment, assessment, and other services for students who face complex issues and crisis (e.g., trauma, hospitalization, suicidal ideation, substance abuse concerns, physical and mental health concerns, etc.) that could affect their ability to be successful at UNG.Provide advocacy for students, with instructors as appropriate, ensuring their needs are communicated and addressed.Foster partnerships with external community agencies and care providers as appropriate.Maintain student case files in Maxient, ensuring case notes and other records are maintained in accordance with university policies and federal and state regulations.Deliver proactive messaging and educational outreach to promote student well-being, mental health awareness, academic resources, academic best practices, and more.Assist with data analysis to identify and assess evolving issues impacting student success and effectiveness of intervention models and resource delivery. Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesFamiliar with support services within a higher education or community setting to assist students/client.
