Construction also works closely with partner contractors to come up with a vertically integrated design and leads these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget. Many times, a role like this at other companies is purely oversight. One thing that distinguishes Vantage is that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. When compared to external resources, our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.Position OverviewVantage is looking for a Senior Construction Manager to lead and drive success on new and ongoing, medium-to-large-sized construction capital projects! The position covers all aspects of a construction project. Areas of expertise require autonomy and independent discretion in the following areas:RFP development and overall project budgetingPre-bid planning, oversight and coordinationLead multiple projects/deliverablesLeading all design phases and documents working internally with stakeholder groups and SME'sCustomer engagement for sales and fulfillment of project requirementsCoordination and supervision of design-build, and design bid build contractorsOversight of physical construction activities on siteCoordination and logistical planning for all OFCI equipmentLeading commissioning of critical systems integration across new and existing data centersHand-off of physical data center and project documents to operationsManagement in prime contractor safety performanceEssential Job FunctionsManagement of project scope, safety, schedule, stakeholder, and budgetDrive all aspects of construction including pre-construction, design development, permitting and entitlements, competitive bid process, team selection, construction oversight, commissioning, and project closeoutCultivate ability to build business cases and bring projects from concept through internal project approvalImplement project quality controls and safety programs through an in-depth understanding of the partner contracts and design documentsLead the Vantage site safety program and provide weekly HRA site walk reports. Two (2) HRA site walks are required per week to provide accurate safety metrics to the Vantage EH&S departmentTranslate job requirements to execution with minimal supervisionBe a leader and mentor to Vantage employeesDutiesCollaborate with design team, contractors, operations teams and clientsSubmit monthly project financial reporting including forecasting, cash-flow, etc.Review monthly contractor billing and perform job walks to substantiate progressDevelop, lead, maintain, and assist with contract negotiation of new and existing vendorsLead input and delivery of work products from internal team members to ensure that new data center spaces align with the project requirements, customer requirements, all engineering standards, applicable codes, and specificationsDevelop, document, and drive lessons learned, process improvements, cost, and schedule savings initiatives throughout the project lifecycle processWork closely with the Operations to coordinate design criteria with budgetary issues and ongoing maintenance and operation of existing facilitiesPerform and or supervise weekly safety walks to ensure contractors are following Vantage EHS policiesAwareness of the importance of mission-critical facility operationAdditional duties as assigned from time to time by ManagementJob RequirementsBachelor of Science in Construction Management, similar field, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 7 years of experience in leading construction projects of increasing complexity required, 7-10 years preferredData Center experience is a plusMulti-prime or alternate procurement delivery experience is preferredProcore, Cx Alloy, and P6 experience preferredExperience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management is a requirementExpected travel is 10% but may grow and evolve over time*THIS POSITION WILL BE FULLY ON-SITE IN PORT WASHINGTON, WI*We operate with No Ego and No Arrogance.
