Job DescriptionThe Role: The Senior Controls Engineer will analyze troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems in manufacturing. Ability to work autonomously and in team environment with occasional guidance from supervision. This is an off-shift position; the selected candidate must be willing to work any shift as required.What Youll Do (Responsibilities): Analyze troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems in manufacturing operation.Ability to be the technical expert on the team and lead and advise the team on the shiftDesign and modify electrical control circuits and programsPerform a wide range of engineering tasks on CNC equipment / robots using engineering software and hardware.Lead technical problem solving / work with cross functional team to drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing process.Implement new technology as required to improve our manufacturing processes.Make contributions to the resolution of complex manufacturing problemsSupport and/or train skilled electriciansMaintain electrical equipmentOversee project installations by contractors and plant electriciansDevelop and plan electrical projectsYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent technical experience5 years of Industrial Control System experienceProficient in PLC and HMI ProgrammingTroubleshooting of Servo and VFD SystemsKnowledge of Industrial Communication Protocols such as Profinet Profibus EthernetMust be willing to work any shift; off shift requiredWhat Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Troubleshooting of RoboticKnowledge of CNC codeExposure to Siemens Rockwell and Fanuc PLCKnowledge of Industrial Cameras (Cognex Keyence Matrox)Experience with Safety PLC&#xa;&#xa;GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
