Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThis position is located at Harrison County Coal Resources in Wallace, WV.  We are seeking hard working, motivated individuals. If you are interested in pursuing a career with great potential, we want you! Primarily responsible for troubleshooting/repairing equipment and supporting production on a continuous miner section.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areasVisually inspect work area for potential hazardsEnsure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible mannerSafely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mineMust comply with company and mine policies, regulatory policies, and approved proceduresAbility to work well with others as part of a team environmentTroubleshoot all underground coal mining equipment, hydraulics, electrical, conveyor systems, and diesel transportation unitsDetermine the type and extent of repair work needed on various types of mining equipmentDetermine seriousness of problems and estimates time to make repairs; obtain correct parts from warehouseInterpret maintenance manuals, parts books, work orders, blueprints, and schematicsMaintain/repair pneumatic equipmentWelding and torching as necessaryPerform work area housekeeping dutiesOther duties as necessaryEXPERIENCEMust have two (2) years industrial maintenance experienceSuccessfully demonstrate mechanical aptitudeJOB REQUIREMENTSMust be 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma or GED, preferredValid state issued Underground Electrical CertificationMust have state issued Underground Miner CertificationRegular and punctual attendanceReliable transportationThorough knowledge of general mining practices as well as State and Federal mining lawsMust be able to successfully complete industry-approved training coursesMust meet all Federal, State, and Local requirementsMust be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independentlyMust be able to successfully pass a post-offer drug test and background checkAbility to work in the United States without sponsorshipJOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overheadAbility to push/pull as neededStanding, bending, step climbing, crawling, and working overheadAbility to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as neededBenefits401k with 6% employer match for eligible employeesEmployee Savings Plans for eligible employeesComprehensive medical, dental, vision, and Rx benefits Basic Life/ADD Insurance, optional Term Life, Accidental Life InsuranceAdditional Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and Accident Insurance benefits for eligible employees Short and Long-Term Disability benefits for eligible employees 100% employer-paid apprentice miner trainingMonthly and annual bonus plans for eligible employeesPaid holidays and paid vacation
