Epson, a global technology leader, is seeking a Senior Counsel to join our Legal team.The Senior Counsel is responsible for managing an active portfolio of legal issues related to Epson products and services with moderate to high-risk implications, providing pre-litigation and litigation advice across the Company, and leading the review of advertising and marketing materials across Canada, the United States, and Latin America.This role collaborates closely with mid- to senior-level stakeholders across Epson America, with a focus on supporting teams within Consumer Sales & Marketing, Commercial Sales & Marketing, and Service & Support, as well as key global partners including Seiko Epson Corporation Legal, IP, and Product Management.This position is based out of Epson America’s headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA with an opportunity for a hybrid schedule.What You’ll Do:Strategic LeadershipIn partnership with senior management, create and execute legal strategies that advance the company’s business goals within defined areasParticipate in and influence decision-making processes with senior managementLead the company’s legal thinking and manage an active portfolio of matters within assigned areasAdvice & CounselAdvise business stakeholders on compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies\Assess legal risks and opportunities, and establish strategies to minimize risk within acceptable business parametersCollaborate with internal legal teams and coordinate efforts with internal and external legal and business experts as appropriateShape and advocate the company’s positions to internal and external audiences on a variety of legal and business mattersCommunicate business risk tolerance to outside counsel to drive effective outcomesRequirements:5-8 years of relevant legal experiencePrior in-house experience supporting sales, marketing and product development for technology products strongly preferredEnthusiastic team player with strong communication and project management skills, as well as business judgment and ability to assess risk Strong business judgment with the ability to assess and balance legal risk Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skillsProactive, detail-oriented team player with a strong desire to learn and contribute to Epson’s successActive California Bar membership or active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdictionEmployee BenefitsIn addition to joining a team of dedicated professionals who support each other and are passionate about their work, you’ll also enjoy a variety of attractive, industry-leading benefits.Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage eligibility on start dateGenerous paid time off, including sick time, vacation, and holidaysIncome protection plans, including life insurance and short-term and long-term disability programs paid by the company401K plan with company matchingEducational reimbursement, employee assistant program (EAP), adoption assistance, employee discounts and much more!The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $182,895 and $228,620. Please note that this position’s salary range may include multiple levels.
