Senior Data Architect (Houston) at Robert Half

Our company is seeking a Senior Data Architect for a fully onsite, 3-month contract opportunity in Houston. This position centers on modernizing core data operations and migrating five analytics models to an Azure Fabric environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead the migration of existing models and data pipelines into Azure Fabric infrastructure.Apply strong data architecture principles to ensure robust, scalable solutions.Design, build, and optimize ETL pipelines using T-SQL and PySpark to support ongoing modernization.Modernize, productionize, and operationalize five existing machine learning/data models.Implement DevOps best practices for deployment, testing, and continuous integration.Conduct framework and code strategy reviews, focusing on code optimization and maintainability.Collaborate cross-functionally with data science, engineering, and IT teams to deliver high-impact solutions.Establish comprehensive testing protocols for reliability and performance.Requirements:Proven experience in advanced data architecture and model migration projects.Expertise working with Azure Fabric infrastructure environments.Hands-on proficiency in T-SQL and PySpark.Demonstrated success modernizing and productionizing data models in enterprise environments.Strong background in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.Experience developing and optimizing ETL processes for large-scale data systems.Ability to deliver results under tight timeframes and changing priorities.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
