This role provides technical leadership across data integration transformation and delivery processes. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver with strong intellectual curiosity excellent data management skills and a deep understanding of data security and governance principles.As a senior member of the data engineering team you will be responsible for architecting and maintaining scalable data pipelines preparing data for extracts and reporting and ensuring efficient and secure data flows across systems and platforms.Position Responsibilities:Design and Develop Data SolutionsBuild maintain and optimize data pipelines and workflows that support reporting analytics and business applications using SQL Informatica IICS and Snowflake.Data Processing and PreparationDevelop and manage data preparation routines for extracts transformations and reporting datasets ensuring reliability and performance.Data Modeling and OptimizationCreate and maintain logical and physical data models following normalization principles and best practices. Tune queries for optimal performance across Snowflake and Oracle environments.Integration and AutomationWork with various structured and semi-structured data formats (XML JSON) and leverage AWS cloud frameworks for scalable data integration and processing.Data Security and QualityEnsure compliance with data security policies and implement best practices for data protection integrity and confidentiality.Collaboration and LeadershipPartner with data analysts developers and business stakeholders to define data requirements streamline processes and improve data accessibility for reporting tools such as Power BI.Continuous ImprovementRecommend and implement improvements to data architecture workflows and governance processes. Serve as a mentor to junior team members and promote a culture of curiosity and continuous learning.Position Qualifications:Required Skills and ExperienceBachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field; equivalent work experience considered.5 years of experience in data engineering or database development.Demonstrated expertise in:SQL development and query tuningInformatica and IICS for ETL and data integrationSnowflake data warehouse architecture and developmentOracle database systemsPower BI for data visualization and reporting enablementData modeling normalization and relational designHandling and transforming XML and JSON data structuresBuilding data solutions in an AWS cloud environmentStrong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently on complex technical challenges.Deep understanding of data security governance and compliance best practices.High degree of self-motivation intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous improvement.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with PowerShell or Python for automation and data scripting.Familiarity with IDMC (Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud).Experience with Azure data storage compute and integration services.Knowledge of Git for version control and collaboration.Exposure to end-to-end data flow ingestion and orchestration processes across hybrid or multi-cloud environments.Sponsorship is not accepted for this opportunity.This position can be worked hybrid out of a local Kemper office including Chicago or Downers Grove IL. Remote working arrangements may be available to non-local candidates.The range for this position is $95900 to $159700. When determining candidate offers we consider experience skills education certifications and geographic location among other factors.
