This role will partner with our chief learning officer and product leadership team to drive engagement and improve student outcomes. We are looking for curious passionate individuals who can apply their strong technical skills to mine for insights across our rich datasets and work collaboratively across the organization to drive critical strategic decisions.THE ROLEPartner with product teams to understand and help develop theories of action which describe testable hypotheses for the impact of new featuresIdentify and measure success of initiatives through goal setting forecasting event instrumentation monitoring and ongoing analysis of core outcome metricsPerform exploratory analyses on our rich datasets to extract insights about our teacher & learner behavior and guide our decisions around product roadmap and investmentsUse your expertise with statistical techniques to quantify the impact of various features programs and interventionsShare results of analyses to non-technical audiences in ways that help them develop insights about our offeringsContribute to the development of self-service analytics tools to enhance data access for the product team; work with our engineering teams to improve our tools and datasetsWHAT YOU BRINGMotivated by the Khan Academy mission to provide a free world-class education for anyone anywhere.Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness awareness of other and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives attitudes and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization.Background in applied math statistics economics or a related technical field5 years of experience in data science or analyticsProficient with statistical techniques (i.e. multiple regression causal inference AB testing hypothesis testing) for real-world applicationsAdvanced SQL foundations & ability to manipulate data using R or PythonCompelling data storytelling and visualization (i.e. Looker) with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholdersStrong business intuition & judgment with a knack for asking the right questions to drive impactPrior experience working in the education industry is a plusPERKS AND BENEFITSWe may be a non-profit but we reward our talented team extremely well! The pay range for this position is a general guideline only.
