Third-party design partners are used (both locally and abroad) to augment our in-house team or to provide specific expertise. For the most part we build what we design often in our modern manufacturing factory right here in Western Pennsylvania.We design and develop a wide variety of world-class gas detection instruments sensors accessories and infrastructure for worker connectivity and remote management. Our designs include the latest mixed-signal embedded computing technology mechanical packaging miniaturization and compelling user-interfaces. We partner with a dedicated in-house application software team providing feature-rich web-based applications that help our customers keep their workers safe.A Senior Electrical Engineer is a skilled engineering professional who designs large-scale electrical engineering projects. This person will often serve as the Lead Electrical Engineer in the ISC Stage-Gate Product Development Process.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:This position is responsible for the detailed electrical design throughout the Product Development life-cycle. This position may occasionally be involved in Enhancement & Sustaining projects for ISC legacy products. This position is expected to work closely with various cross-functional groups to fully assure a properly designed product from concept to production.The duties may include but are not limited to:Designing analog and digital hardware to receive agency approvals (UL CSA ATEX IEC MSHA etc.)Define and execute system level specifications and requirementsEstablishing strategic direction of electrical designsDeveloping technical design documentationTroubleshooting of new and legacy designsFollow enforce and mature the corporate engineering processesDevelop and present materials for design reviews and champion design for manufacturability reliability and serviceabilityDesigning legacy product upgradesTraining in the technical use and servicing of new designsCollaborative participation in cross-functional product development teamsAct as central liaison with quality assurance during product testingRequired Qualifications:Minimum BSEE from an accredited engineering college or universityMinimum 5 years experience in circuit design fieldProven success with low level analog circuit designProven success with digital hardware design with micro-controllersAbility to develop schematics and layout in AltiumDemonstrated analytical skillsSelf-starter with the ability to work as part of a team while also meeting individual responsibilitiesPreferred Qualifications:MSEE from an accredited engineering college or university10 years experience in circuit design fieldIntrinsic safety designRF design and/or wireless technology integrationBattery technologiesEmbedded programmingSpice circuit simulation and signal integrityDemonstrated understanding of safety-critical embedded system designProject managementSoft Skills:Able to work effectively in a formal product development team environmentAble to exercise independent sound judgment and decision makingAble to commit to and work under deadlinesDemonstrated understanding of Stage-Gate development processEffective written and verbal communication skillsManage third party on and off-shore development teams when neededRequired Experience:Senior IC Key Skills Electrical Engineering,System Design,Firmware,NEC,PCB,Sensors,Signal Processing,Matlab,Fpga,Autocad,Programmable Logic Controllers,Revit Employment Type : Full-Time Department / Functional Area: Engineering Experience: years Vacancy: 1
