Job Description

The RoleAs a Sr Flower Technician, you will perform a variety of plant maintenance activities to ensure the highest quality flower for our patients and consumers to enjoy. In this role, you will ensure the healthy growth of our cannabis plants and keep a safe, positive work environment and culture. In addition, you will be responsible for training new employees on our SOP's and best practices as well as performing required computer work.ResponsibilitiesSafety, Quality & Compliance:Participate in department safety audits and hazard assessmentsTrain new hires on department 5S requirementsEnsure all employees execute processes in the guidelines of department specific trainingReport and escalate safety concernsTrain employees on compliance with PPE and area safety requirementsTrain employees on compliance with GMP, biosecurity, sanitation or other quality and compliance requirementsTrain employees on all company and state required record keeping is accurate and completeTrain employees on tools, equipment and machineryEnsure department inventory requirements are metReport and escalate quality concernsProduction:Use hands and hand tools to perform plant maintenance activities including defoliation, pruning, skirtingCan function as a stand in for an area leadCommunicate production goals and maintain tracking of performanceExecute IPM activities, including spraying and all associated requirements of sprayingJob Knowledge:Follow department specific work instructions, SOP's and employee trainingDevelop deep technical knowledge for the departmentThe ability to recognize different strains, requirements associated with the strain, growth patterns and identify anomalies within the plants and recommend actions to addressContinuous Improvement:Participate in continuous improvement projectsQualifications Associate's degree or Certifications preferredA minimum of one year of experience working in a manufacturing or agricultural environmentIntermediate level computer skills in Microsoft Office ApplicationsEffective time-management skills and ability to multi-taskAbility to work well with others while also completing individually assigned tasksAbility to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environmentMust be able to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirementsMust be able to work in an environment that is 85+ degrees and 70% humidity for extended periodsMust be able to work at heightsPrior cannabis experience not requiredAdditional RequirementsMust pass all required background checks and approval by state badging agency to work in the cannabis industryMust be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industryMust possess valid driver's licenseMust be a minimum of 21 years of ageWorking ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds AND must be able to do so with extreme care and caution while working with productWork involves daily exposure to allergens (such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil).The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.Green Thumb Pay Range$20.50—$21 USD
