What You'll Do:As a the Manager of Recruiting at Slingshot, you will contribute to one of the most important things at the company - building the best team in space, on earth. You'll manage end-to-end recruiting across technical, non-technical, and federally funded programs. You'll guide our hiring strategy, strengthen our recruiting operations, and ensure we have the talent readiness to support rapid growth and government program delivery.This role blends hands-on recruiting with strategic leadership: forecasting talent needs, building and maintaining passive talent pools (particularly cleared talent), ensuring compliance with federal program requirements, and developing scalable, predictable TA processes.Slingshot Aerospace cares deeply about our commitment to company values, mission, and purpose. The core competencies we will be looking to identify include: intellectual agility, ability to develop innovative solutions, leadership, performance-orientation, and industry expertise.Position Responsibilities:Own the recruiting strategy and process for your assigned business areas, including forecasting talent needs in partnership with Finance, Program Management, and Technical leadershipBuild short- and long-term hiring plans to support federal programs, operational scaling, and revenue-driven headcount growthPartner with leaders to assess upcoming contract requirements and staffing timelines, including surge staffing and phased hiring modelsDesign systems that develop and maintain pipelines of candidates with skills and clearances aligned to current and anticipated program needsEnsure recruiting practices support compliance with federal program standards, contract labor categories, and customer staffing requirementsBuild relationships within cleared communities, government-adjacent networks, and defense-industry talent poolsBuild and nurture passive talent pools for hard-to-fill, high-impact, and future-state rolesDesign and implement proactive sourcing strategies leveraging research, market mapping, referral channels, and long-term engagement touchpointsEstablish an always-on talent pipeline for cleared and technical candidates ahead of contract wins and internal approvalsLead full-cycle recruiting for complex requisitions, serving as a strategic partner and coach to hiring managersIntegrate our employer brand into every stage of the recruitment process, helping tell our story and showcasing why Slingshot is a mission worth joiningAct as a brand ambassador, promoting Slingshot's culture and employee value proposition in every interactionCreate and optimize our recruiting playbook, ensuring speed, consistency, and a high hiring barUse data to shape decision-making, track progress against hiring goals, and surface risks or bottlenecks earlyChampion diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring practices, sourcing strategies, and interviewer trainingPerform other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of your responsibilities)Minimum Requirements8+ years of experience in corporate Talent Acquisition, successfully attracting and onboarding talent in a highly competitive, high-growth environmentPrior experience leading Recruiting teamsKnowledge of specialized sourcing strategies to proactively develop candidate pipelinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate at multiple levels of the organization and persuade and influence stakeholdersA high degree of accuracy, care, and attention to detailPreferred SkillsA "selling approach" to recruitingExperience leveraging equity compensation in candidate negotiationsExperience navigating and developing ambiguous processes in an early-stage startupThese skills are guidelines. We are unable to consider candidates residing in other U.S. states at this time.Internationally-based Candidates: we are currently only able to hire residents of the following locations: United Kingdom.
