Position OverviewThe Senior IT Engineer 1(OSS Platform) is responsible for operations and maintenance of the local Open Source technology stack to support manufacturing operations from an IT/OT perspective in a global organization. This position acts as a single point of contact and escalation for the locally used systems and ensures the most appropriate level of service is supplied to meet future business needs. This role will initially be part of the local IT project team responsible for implementing all infrastructure and applications necessary to bring FDB’s new site in Holly Springs, NC, online. This role functions as a local extension of the Global IT team reporting into the Sr. Director - IT. This role ensures local implementation and 24/7 support in alignment with global support processes.Company OverviewFUJIFILM Biotechnologies is building the future of bioproduction in Holly Springs, North Carolina. We are guided and united by our Group Purpose of “giving our world more smiles.” Visit: Job DescriptionWhat You’ll DoMonitors, manages, and troubleshoots end user computing systems across FUJIFILM BiotechnologiesAssists in the establishment and alignment of roadmaps across IT & OTImplements and supports tools and services bridging the gap between IT & OT.Builds a modern, flexible, and mature service delivery model.Champions new technologies, like open source and cloud native activities, and act as an Open Source evangelistImplements and supports a fit-for-purpose containerization platform.Participates in industry forums to stay-abreast of current trends and promote our way of working and accomplishments.Provides level 2 support, including resolving complex technical issues within the OSS area of operations.Provides critical technical expertise.Creates and deploys of application packages for use on end point devicesAssists with other projects involving the infrastructure and application systems teams.Analyzes inquiries and participate in on-call rotation for critical incident management.Determines appropriate technical area or vendor to resolve problems.Participates in project execution and quality assurance as needed.Ensures and drives service delivery of the IT ServiceDeskOther duties, as assignedKnowledge and SkillsExcellent troubleshooting skills to identify and correct problemsExcellent oral and written communications skills and fluency in EnglishStrong analytical mind, eye for detail, and problem solving skillsDrive for automation and simplification of tasks and processesCollaborative attitude with the willingness to work with global peers and cross-functional teams toward company and project team goalsHigh sense of responsibility and ownership.Self-driven, flexible, has a positive attitude.High service and quality mindsetBasic RequirementBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent work experience with 5+ years of experience with open source technologies ORMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration with 3 years of experienceExperience implementing Enterprise Linux/*NIX hosting capabilitiesKnowledge of OpenStack tools, such as Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar.Foundational understanding of security Open Source technologiesExperience with manufacturing IT/OTPreferred Requirements Experience in Life Sciences or GMP manufacturing environmentFDBN is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
