Senior Instructional Designer at steampunk

OverviewAs a Senior Instructional Designer you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive technical training programs in support of our federal client. You will work as part of a cross-functional teamincluding other types of design and technical expertsengaging with stakeholders and end-users to develop an effective approach and ensure adoption of new systems and processes. ContributionsResponsibilities:Develop learner personas to create tailored training for diverse user needsAnalyze existing training materials and business processes to identify learning gaps/needs and opportunities for improvement Conduct user-wide learning needs analyses and identify business process training gapsConduct user research to determine learning content scope and coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to structure learning pathsBalance stakeholder expectations with learner needs through training approach deliverablesDevelop interactive and engaging training materials using a variety of modalities (videos user guides eLearning etc.) with learner theories in mind (ADDIE Blooms Spiral Model etc.) to create dynamic learning experiencesIncorporate proper implementation of knowledge checks and compliance trackingLead and direct training development and deliveryEstablish metrics and measure user adoptionFacilitate learning management system administration usage and develop feedback loops for enhancementConsider long-term governance plans for sustaining training programs and materials like the development of Train-the-Trainer structuresQualificationsQualificationsAbility to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance5 years of experience in Education Training or a related field1 year(s) of experience in training on technical systems or softwareThorough knowledge of the full training life cycle and demonstrated ability to develop and implementKnowledge of contemporary learning management software platformsExperience with traditional and modern training methods tools and techniquesAbility to convey complex information in a way that people understandExperience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including UX/UI designers technologists data scientists engineers solution architects and change managersA collaborative nature with excellent written communication and presentation skillsFamiliarity with Design Thinking and a natural curiosity for solving problems coupled with strong analytical skillsExperience with 508 compliant trainingExperience working in an agile project-based environmentProficiency in MS Office and Mastery of Training tools (Articulate Camtasia Vyond)Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Training and Instructional DesignBonus PointsPrevious work experience in or with the federal governmentPrevious work experience as a consultantAbout steampunkSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary including but not limited to geographic location contractual requirements education knowledge skills competencies and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $100000 to $160000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
