Job Description SummaryRole SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Intellectual Property (IP) Operations Specialist to join our team. This role is a people leader position responsible for managing a small team of professionals while driving key initiatives in budget management enterprise compliance and risk management frameworks High Risk Country (HRC) strategy and processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess specialized knowledge in intellectual property operations a strong understanding of the aerospace industry and the ability to lead functional teams and projects with broad responsibility and complexity.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Team Management:Lead and manage a small team of employees providing mentorship guidance and support to develop talent and achieve team objectives.Attract retain and recruit top talent to strengthen the organization.Foster a culture of collaboration continuous improvement and alignment with GE Aerospaces FLIGHT DECK operating model.Budget Management:Oversee and manage the budget for the IP operations function ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and financial goals.Utilize high levels of evaluative judgment to make informed decisions and optimize resource allocation.Enterprise Compliance and Risk Management Framework:Develop implement and maintain compliance and risk management frameworks to ensure adherence to internal and external regulatory requirements.Regularly advise management in the function and/or business on compliance and risk-related matters providing actionable insights and recommendations.HRC Strategy:Lead the execution of High-Risk Country (HRC) strategies within the IP operations function.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align HRC initiatives with broader organizational goals.Processes and Procedures:Define implement and continuously improve processes and procedures within the IP operations function.Own elements of FLIGHT DECK engagement including sub-section KPIs/metrics standard work action plans and problem-solving initiatives.Operational Excellence:Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness within the IP function leveraging lean principles and best practices.Ensure alignment of operational processes with business objectives and industry standards.Required QualificationsBachelors degree from an accredited university or college with at least 6-8 additional years of experience in Intellectual Property.Experience in people leadership responsibilitiesDesired Qualifications:Proven track record of leadership and team management with experience in attracting retaining and developing talent.Strong background in intellectual property operations with specialized knowledge and breadth of expertise in the discipline.Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and ensure compliance with enterprise policies and regulations.Experience in developing and executing strategies policies and standard work within a functional area.Strong knowledge of the aerospace industry and its regulatory environment.Key CompetenciesScope & Impact:Meaningful decision-making authority within a smaller segment of a business unit or functional group impacting the teams ability to achieve service quality and timeliness objectives.Work is subject to functional policies priorities standard work and general guidance from functional leadership.Regularly advises management in the function and/or business with a supportive role in decision-making about important subjects.Domain Knowledge:Requires specialized knowledge in intellectual property operations and/or breadth of expertise within the discipline.Expected to influence the development of strategy and policy within the IP operations function including control of resources.Familiarity with Intellectual Property laws or legal schemes including with some of the key processes used and work performed by Intellectual Property attorneys and practitioners.Business Expertise:Strong knowledge of the aerospace industry and understanding of the functions value in light of industry trends.Interprets internal and external business challenges through relevant experience drawing on business expertise to recommend best practices for improving products processes or services.Starting to develop an external network of legal and regulatory contacts.Problem Solving:Uses high levels of expertise analytical skills and judgment to make decisions issue-spot analyze and solve complex problems that impact the function or the business.Balances rigor and pragmatism for effective decision-making and problem-solving offering new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and constructing actionable advice.Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple internal and external resources outside of own function.Communication & Leadership:May lead functional teams or projects with broad responsibility and complexity in domain directly or indirectly.Ability to attract and retain talent recruit top performers and develop team members.Communicates effectively with senior leadership providing insights and recommendationsOwns elements of FLIGHT DECK engagement including sub-section KPIs/metrics standard work action plans and problem-solving initiatives.Why Join UsAt GE Aerospace we valueRespect for PeopleContinuous Improvement and beingCustomer Driven.
