We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic team. This position offers you the opportunity to play a critical role in our firm, where you will handle complex litigation matters across a broad spectrum of industries. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of litigation, from initial case evaluation through discovery, motion practice, trial prep, and resolution. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with a strong background in insurance defense and environmental law, and a proven track record of developing and implementing successful litigation strategies.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage all phases of litigation from inception to resolution, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, settlement negotiations, and trial.
2. Develop and implement litigation strategies that align with client objectives and manage risks effectively.
3. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in civil litigation.
4. Conduct extensive legal research to analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations in order to determine their applicability to cases.
5. Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
6. Provide expert advice and counsel to clients on legal matters pertaining to insurance defense and environmental law.
7. Participate in business development initiatives, including networking events, client presentations, and proposal development.
8. Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted and in good standing with the NY state bar.
3. Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a litigation attorney, with a focus on insurance defense and environmental law.
4. Demonstrated experience in all aspects of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
5. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful litigation strategies.
6. Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and regulations.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex legal arguments.
8. Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
9. Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
10. Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
11. Commitment to adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards.
