Well look to you to play significant roles in client engagement teams in the financial modeling area of our practice in a wide variety of projects including:Model development and optimizationModel validations and efficiency assessmentsActuarial transformationMergers and AcquisitionsFinancial and regulatory reportingYoull support key actuarial modeling practice priorities focusing on driving innovation expanding business opportunities and enhancing market outreach. Youll collaborate with other practice leaders both actuarial and non-actuarial for go-to-market and development of cross-service offerings.Skills and attributes for successConsistently deliver quality client services and high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.Assist clients in tackling unique and complex business issues using your experience innovative solution development leadership and a strong EY support team.Cultivate and manage business development opportunities understanding EY and its service lines and actively assessing ways to serve clients. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs.Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment. Play an active role in counselling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members in real time.Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge with the ability to quickly assimilate new knowledge.Possess good business acumen and remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.Understand and communicate complex actuarial issues stay informed of and apply professional standards and firm policies (e.g. Actuarial Standards of Practice).Develop a strong personal brand and enhance the EY brand by writing articles participating in industry groups and speaking at seminars.To qualify for the role you must haveA Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science Mathematics Statistics or another related majorApproximately 8 years of relevant experience including at least 4 years of people and/or project managementFellowship in the Society of ActuariesStrong knowledge of at least one prominent actuarial modeling software platform including but not limited to: Moodys GGY AXIS FIS Prophet Milliman ALFA/Integrate Aon Benfield PathWise Slope PolySystems among othersStrong writing presentation conceptual analytical project management and interpersonal skillsA proven ability to manage time while working on multiple often shifting projects and the confidence to work both collaboratively and independently under pressureWillingness and ability to travel to meet client needsIdeally youll also havePrior experience with key platform library coding modules specific to actuarial modeling platforms worked with previously (asset liability economic-related modules) Solution design expertise with the ability to effectively translate business requirements into modeling solutionsProficient in model staging and development skill sets including coding data transformation and prep batch creation and automation assumption management and extraction / manipulation of model outputProficient in model development lifecycle processes and activities including model change management unit and user acceptance testing proceduresKnowledge of US Life Health and Annuity products including prominent features product dynamics and key modeling considerations. Associated regulations including STAT/GAAP reporting with considerations of emerging frameworks (such as VM-22) are also encouraged.Experience with asset modeling and ALM-related concepts including asset model staging processing data from externally projected asset sources asset/liability interaction modeling reinvestment modeling and management of run time/fidelity trade-offsExperience with open-source coding paradigms such as Python R Julia othersExperience with leading and overseeing actuarial modeling projects including model development validation and optimizationWhat we look forWere most interested in intellectually curious actuaries with a clear passion for actuarial work. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $171000 to $390600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $205100 to $443800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and addition our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage pension and 401(k) plans and a wide range of paid time off options.Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model.
