This role owns the strategic and tactical planning execution and continuous improvement of all Quality functions for the Coralville manufacturing operation. You will lead a high-performing team of Quality Engineers ensuring product integrity driving compliance to AS9100 standards and enabling operational excellence across the site.What You Will Do:Quality Leadership & StrategyDevelop implement and manage quality plans policies standards and processes to achieve site business and program quality targets.Set the strategic direction for Coralvilles Quality function ensuring alignment to Mission Systems and enterprise-wide Quality initiatives.Lead organization-wide projects and continuous improvement efforts to strengthen quality systems and reduce COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality).QMS Ownership & ComplianceMaintain and improve the sites Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100 ensuring readiness for audits assessments and regulatory reviews.Oversee the development and sustainment of program quality plans inspection procedures and operational quality controls.Lead teams interpreting policies industry standards customer requirements and government regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.People LeadershipDirect and mentor a team of Quality Engineers setting clear expectations and guiding performance management development engagement and succession planning.Build a culture of accountability continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.Quality Execution & Continuous ImprovementDrive Lean Manufacturing Zero Defects (ZDP) ACE and/or Continuous Improvement methodologies to optimize quality performance reduce escapes and strengthen process capability.Oversee production process analyses root-cause investigations corrective/preventive action (CAPA) and implementation of sustainable improvements.Lead efforts to collect analyze and leverage quality data from multiple operational and program sources to inform long-term strategy.Customer & Stakeholder EngagementPartner closely with Program Management Operations Engineering Supply Chain and other functional stakeholders to proactively address quality risks and support program execution.Interface with customers as needed to support audits resolve quality concerns and champion improvement initiatives.Documentation & ReportingEnsure the preparation accuracy and maintenance of all Quality documentation metrics and governance required for internal and external compliance.Monitor and manage performance metrics that impact quality throughout the Coralville operation.Education / Experience Needed:Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experiencePrevious Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement Experience requiredQualifications We Prefer:Experience leading multidisciplinary Quality teams in a manufacturing or aerospace environmentPrior responsibility for maintaining AS9100 QMS complianceDemonstrated success using Lean Continuous Improvement ACE Kaizen or ZDP methodologiesStrong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partnersWorking knowledge of shop floor processes inspection methodologies and new product/process introductionSAP or similar ERP/MRP experienceProven ability to plan prioritize coach and manage teams in a dynamic environmentWhat We Offer:Medical dental and vision insuranceThree weeks of vacation for newly hired employeesGenerous 401(k) plan that includes employer matching funds and separate employer retirement contribution including a Lifetime Income Strategy optionTuition reimbursement programStudent Loan Repayment ProgramLife insurance and disability coverageOptional coverages you can buy pet insurance home and auto insurance additional life and accident insurancecritical illnessinsurance group legal ID theft protectionBirth adoption parental leave benefitsOvia Health fertility and family planningAdoption Assistance Autism BenefitEmployee Assistance Plan including up to 10 free counseling sessionsHealthy You Incentives wellness rewards programDoctor on Demand virtual doctor visitsBright Horizons child and elder care servicesTeladoc Medical Experts second opinion programAnd more!Learn More & Apply Now!Mission Systems:Do you want to be a part of something bigger A team whose impact stretches across the world and even beyond At Collins Aerospace our Mission Systems team helps civilian military and government customers complete their most complex missions whatever and wherever they may be. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
