Be Part of the Story as the Senior Manager, Softlines Apparel at The Walt Disney Company. In this role, you will oversee the fashion apparel business across key licensees in the North America market, driving strategic growth and commercial success. This position is responsible for developing and leading apparel programs aligned with franchise strategies, retail partners, and consumer trends, while also managing and mentoring a high-performing team.

The Senior Manager, Softlines Apparel will report to the Director, NAM Softlines.

This is a Full-Time role.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop strategic growth opportunities for assigned licensees within Fashion Apparel, including men’s, women’s, kids’, and seasonal programs
  • Build strong, team-oriented relationships with peers and key global and regional partners to drive new business and cross-category or cross-franchise opportunities
  • Own responsibility for the apparel line of business, including development and presentation of annual operating plans, setting team objectives and priorities, and delivering quarterly revenue forecasts and business insights
  • Identify new business models, distribution opportunities, and incremental revenue streams across wholesale, specialty, and mass retail channels
  • Provide business vision and set strategic direction for new and existing apparel licensees, including deal negotiation and development of long-range growth plans aligned with consumer insights, retailer strategies, and regional priorities
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with licensees, including onboarding, contract negotiation, line reviews, issue resolution, approvals, and promotional support
  • Research and analyze the competitive landscape, including fashion trends, consumer behavior, retail dynamics, and industry innovation to inform strategic decisions
  • Proactively partner with internal Marketing, Communications, and Social Media teams to drive awareness, storytelling, and demand for apparel product lines

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of related experience (licensing, business development, account management, buying, merchandising, or apparel-focused roles)
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning
  • Proven ability to build relationships, collaborate cross-functionally, and influence at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Analytical, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset; proactive, dependable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within Fashion Apparel, Accessories, or Softlines licensing is preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $139,200 to $186,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
