Job DescriptionJob Description:POSITION SUMMARY:The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and enhancing manufacturing equipment and processes for both new and existing heat transfer products. This role involves a variety of process improvement projects, including general production, aluminum welding processes, and quality enhancement initiatives.Experience with vacuum braze furnaces preferred.Position is salaried and pay is based on years of experience and skillset ($95,000 - $120,000 annually)ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and develop mechanical specifications for new and existing equipment and processes involved in manufacturing heat transfer productsIdentify and qualify suppliers to meet project and equipment specificationsCollaborate with Management, Design Engineering, and Production departments to determine project specifications and procedures, such as welding manufacturing equipment and processesPrepare cost estimates and project plans for new equipment and processes.Work with Design Engineering to develop routings for heat exchanger components and assembliesPerform calculations to verify equipment and process capabilities to support production volumesManage manufacturing projects from initial development through to final manufacturing qualificationOversee internal and supplier equipment qualification plans and supervise the testing/validation of new equipmentCreate manufacturing instructions for new productsInvestigate and resolve issues that arise during the manufacturing of new and existing products using tools like RCCA, Fishbone Diagrams, 5-Why's, etc..., and implement effective solutionsEnsure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations related to job dutiesAdhere to and enforce Customer and Company standards, policies, and proceduresRecommend and implement process improvementsProvide feedback to management regarding potential problems or areas for improvementPerform all other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical EngineeringA minimum of 5 years of engineering experience is preferredExperience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, and 5S methodologiesKnowledge of vacuum brazing, CNC operations, and/or welding is preferredCOMPANY OVERVIEW:Boyd is the world's leading innovator in sustainable engineered material and thermal solutions that make our customers' products better, safer, faster, and more reliable.
