This site manufactures Medtronic ExtraCorporeal Life Support (ECLS) and ExtraCorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) products including NautilusTM Oxygenators Crescent Jugular Dual Lumen Catheter Crescent RA Right Atrial Catheter and the VitalFlow ECLS System for our Cardiac Surgery (CS) portfolio. In this exciting role as Senior Manufacturing Engineer you will work with a team to design develop fabricate and qualify new and improved equipment and automation used in the manufacture of life saving ECLS devices. These product lines and supporting systems are growing at an accelerated rate and require innovation for greater process efficiency safety speed and quality. The operations group seeks candidates who are intuitive problem solvers and driven to succeed. This role reports to the Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager.We anticipate the application window for this opening will close on - X November 2025.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.Research plans designs verifies validates and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical equipment and systems such as instruments controls robots and machines for production.Designs and implements manufacturing processes and test method validations procedures and production layouts for assemblies equipment installation processing machining and material with cross-functional team to identify process improvement opportunities.Identify process improvement opportunities including new fixturing equipment and inspection solutions.Designs arrangement of machines within cleanroom facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.Manage project timelines and scope communicating changes and challenges to key stakeholders.Sustain current production through day to day support.May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.Inspects performance of machinery equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.Assumes the role of technical project lead for complex assembly projectsEnsures processes and procedures follow engineering change orders and coordinates the implementation of changes including training production staffTroubleshoots designs and processes when defects occur investigating to determine root cause and implements effective containment and counter measuresMinimum RequirementsBachelors degreewith a minimum of 4 years of relevant experienceORMasters degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experienceORPhD with 0 years relevant experience.Nice To HaveBachelor of Science in Engineering such as Mechanical or Electromechanical or bachelors degree in technical discipline (science or math fields) required.4 years relevant experience in the medical device pharmaceutical or highly regulated industryExperience in cannula and catheter dipping operationsFixture design and developmentExperience managing project timelines budgets and resource allocations.Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing and/or combination products.Excellent data analysis skills and proficient in the use of statistical tools in problem solvingExpert in continuous improvement programs such as LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma.Experience in production process development and equipment trouble shootingPhysical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location.
