Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: Job DescriptionJob Title: Nutritional Services TechnicianDepartment: Dietary ServicesFLSA Classification: Non-Exempt - Eligible for OvertimeEmployment Status: Full-TimeLocation: Harrison County Community Hospital (HCCH)Reports to: Nutritional Services DirectorJob Summary/Objective:The Nutritional Services Technician in Nutritional Services is responsible for setting up foodstations, performing basic food preparation, maintaining proper food temperatures, and ensuringadherence to safe food handling practices. This role contributes to the delivery of high-qualitymeals to patients, staff, and visitors in compliance with dietary guidelines and sanitationstandards.Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities: Set up and maintain food preparation stations, ensuring readiness for meal service. Perform basic food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, mixing, and portioningingredients. Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures to ensure safety and quality standards. Follow safe food handling practices, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation ofingredients. Assist in the preparation and presentation of meals according to menus, recipes, anddietary restrictions. Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils to meet health andsafety regulations. Restock and organize supplies and ingredients as needed, ensuring adequate inventorylevels. Collaborate with dietary staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely mealdelivery. Assist with serving meals as needed and ensure customer satisfaction. Report any equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or food safety concerns to theDietary Services Manager.Skills / Abilities: Basic cooking and food preparation skills, with knowledge of food safety and sanitationpractices. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-pacedenvironment. Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation. Effective communication and teamwork skills to work collaboratively with dietary staff. Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.Education, Certificates, and License:Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience: Prior experience in food preparation or kitchen operations preferred but not required.Physical Requirements: Lifting: Regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs. Mobility: Frequent standing, walking, and reaching throughout shifts. Posture: Bending, twisting, and kneeling as needed in food preparation tasks.
