SENIOR PERFORMANCE ANALYST Job Number: 409594-2 Description JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Senior Performance AnalystChicago Police DepartmentStrategic Initiatives DivisionNumber of Positions: 6(Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)Starting Salary: $82,884 AnnuallyApplications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on 01/31/2026 Under general supervision, performs fully functional professional analysis of programs and operations in city departments and makes recommendations to improve their effectiveness, and performs related duties as required ESSENTIAL DUTIESAnalyzes, interprets, and reports on performance data to support informed decision-making, operational efficiency, and policy improvementsAssists in developing analytical frameworks to assess program performance, identify trends, evaluate community concerns, and measure progress toward departmental goalsProduces high-quality research and reports that translate findings into meaningful insights and actionable recommendationsCoordinates with internal divisions and external agencies to acquire and integrate relevant data for analysis of crime patterns, emerging issues, and service deliveryEvaluates complex operational and business systems; drafts flowcharts and models to assess current work methods and identify areas for improvementAssists in developing performance indicators for new or modified programs and monitors implementation effectiveness, recommending modifications as neededResearches and applies best practices, statistical techniques, and modeling methods to inform organizational improvements and strategic planning.Assists in developing and maintaining databases and dashboards to support data reporting and transparencyUtilizes tools such as SQL, Tableau, and GIS platforms for data analysis, reporting, and visualizationFacilitates the implementation of new procedures and standards; drafts manuals and documentation to institutionalize changes and improvement Additional duties may be required for this position Location: Public Safety Headquarters, 3510 S. Michigan AvenueDays: Monday - FridayHours: 9:00AM - 5:00PMTHIS POSITION IS NOT IN CAREER SERVICE Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of work experience in program auditing or operations analysis, OR* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree or higher plus two (2) years of work experience in program auditing or operations analysis NOTE: Candidates must pass a background investigation, drug screen, and other pre-employment procedures as determined by the Chicago Police Department SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a writing exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected. Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:Previous experience conducting complex data analysis and performance evaluation using SQL, Tableau, or GIS to produce actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.Previous experience designing analytical frameworks, performance indicators, and reports that measure program effectiveness.Previous experience in collecting, integrating, and interpreting data that supports operational improvements, policy development, and community engagement.
