Come help us deliver a unique gaming experience to millions of players!ResponsibilitiesManaging, deploying and maintaining large scale distributed Ceph storage solutionsEnsure high availability and performant storage by providing troubleshooting and debugging support, conducting performance tuning and continuously improving data integrity and reliabilityEvolve processes and best practices to maximize performance and cost efficiency  Staying up to date with Ceph/Storage current developments and experimental features. Share findings and consult architecture changes with the teamAnalyze storage trends and participate in capacity planningRequirementsExperience managing and administrating Ceph Storage, object and block5+ years of experience with Linux systems tooling and troubleshooting in networking, configuration and deploymentFirst hand experience with industry standard storage protocolsStrong Kubernetes skillsProven ability to mentor Junior Members of the teamBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Skills & KnowledgeCeph & Rook expertise managing storage clusters with a deep understanding of the architectural and operational workingsExperience in designing and implementing large-scale globally distributed storage systemsScripting and Automation experience in Bash, Python or GoAbility to support engineers with solving problems in integrating their systems with core Kubernetes components is preferredExperience with Infrastructure as Code and deployment tooling (Terraform, Ansible)Additional AttributesStrong communication and customer service skillsExperience with Kubernetes development including operators and controllers is a plusExperience with collaboration in a distributed team across multiple timezonesHigh energy, driven to positively impact the business with customer-first thinkingMust be self starter who understands that ownership means distributing the knowledge of your work so that everyone benefitsBeing a Contributor to Open Source Software is a plusAt SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products.
