Innovate in collaboration with technologists across JPMorganChase's global technology community, as well as in partnership with some of the most important technology firms in the world.As a Senior Principal Architect at JPMorganChase within Corporate and Investment Bank Technology, you will spearhead the transformation and modernization of payments platforms, collaborating with passionate and dedicated teams at the intersection of technology and business strategy. You will collaborate with internal teams and business leaders alike, creating strategically sound Target State Architectures that can handle today’s needs and be ready for tomorrow’s needs as well. You will also have a stake in budgeting, hiring, mentoring, setting team priorities, and fostering a client-centric environment where everyone learns and grows. Job ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop scalable, high-performance Java-based cloud-native applicationsArchitect solutions for processing large data volumes with low latency and high throughputCreate technical specifications and detailed architecture blueprints for distributed systemsLead technical decisions for enterprise-scale Java applicationsEstablish coding standards, best practices, and development methodologiesMentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams, and stay current with emerging technologies and industry trendsEvaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and frameworks, and collaborate with stakeholders to transform business requirements into optimal technical solutionsPerform code reviews and ensure quality of deliverablesTroubleshoot complex production issues in distributed environmentsRequired qualifications, skills, and capabilitiesBachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering, or related field 10+ years of Java development experience with proven expertise in cloud-native application designStrong hands-on coding skills in Java, and open-source frameworks including Spring Boot, Service-mesh, Docker, Kubernetes, among others, with extensive experience with distributed computing and designing high-throughput, low-latency systemsDemonstrated success processing large data volumes in production environments, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholdersExpert-level knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with event-driven architectures, streaming, and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)Proficiency with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and strong experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling at scaleStrong collaboration skills and experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detailPreferred qualifications, skills, and capabilitiesMaster's in computer science and engineering, or related fieldExperience in the Payments domain or financial services industry, and experience with reactive programming and asynchronous processing modelsKnowledge of advanced performance tuning and optimization techniques with proficiency with multiple cloud platforms and hybrid cloud architecturesExperience with data engineering and big data technologies (Spark, Flink, Hadoop ecosystem)Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience implementing robust security frameworks and compliance best practicesCloud certification(s) (AWS, Azure, GCP)Contributions to open-source projectsThis position is subject to Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
