JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Procurement Manager
The Senior Procurement Manager will play a critical role in driving supplier performance and ensuring seamless execution across a complex global supply base. Acting as a strategic, hands-on partner to quality, engineering, and senior leadership, this individual will lead key supplier initiatives, resolve production challenges, and mitigate risks that threaten schedule, cost, or quality. The role also provides high-visibility support through executive-level presentations, pricing and financial analysis, and management of high-impact supplier escalations. Based onsite in Chula Vista, CA, this position offers the opportunity to influence major programs while traveling up to 30% domestically and internationally.
What You Will Do:
- Manage a group of suppliers from PO placement through order delivery.
- Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family, ensuring on time delivery and meeting all Quality requirements for products
- Review critical shortages with the multiple stakeholders.
- Managing the supplier relationship and improvement activities
- Proactively identify, analyze, and communicate program execution risks of supplier deliverables
- Compiles price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices.
- Communicate and work closely with different internal organizations and internal customers such as quality and engineering to overcome any production and quality impediments.
- Reviews request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages. Present to senior leadership
- Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally
- Able to work on special projects presenting direct to Senior Leadership.
- Able to support other team members for escalations at complex suppliers.
- Responsible to monitor and implement corrective actions to ensure adherence to team metric targets.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 7 years' experience
- Aerospace industry or similar experience in areas of Engineering, Supply chain, Procurement and Operations
- SAP experience

- Technical aptitude to understand complex manufacturing processes
- Project management skills
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge and Continuous Improvement
- Process Improvement experience
- Executive presentation experience
