Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

As a Product Manager for Engagement Safety, you will drive the detection strategy and roadmap to protect YouTube's interactive ecosystems. This is a highly technical role requiring expertise in graph systems and behavioral detection to address complex, fast-evolving safety issues in real-time. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $192000 - $279000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Define the long-term goal and strategy for building YouTube's safety-focused interaction graph.
  • Own the roadmap for detecting bad actors and coordinated abuse patterns across all interactive features.
  • Scope, design, and launch advanced graph-based detection models and behavioral classifiers.
  • Partner closely with Engineering to scale network analysis systems that process real-time interaction data at YouTube's scale.
  • Create frameworks to measure the precision and recall of detection models.
  • Ensure the detection layer adapts rapidly to evolving tactics and high-stakes safety incidents.
  • Partner with Policy, Enforcement, and Intelligence teams to translate emerging threat patterns into technical detection requirements.
  • Serve as the executive technical voice for engagement safety in strategy reviews with leadership.
