Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSenior Project Manager / Architect – Retail (Hybrid)We are partnering with a well-established, multi-discipline architecture firm with a strong presence in the Mid-Atlantic region. The firm delivers high-quality design across a diverse range of project types.The position supports a Retail studio based in the Chesapeake, VA area and works closely with senior leadership on project delivery and strategic initiatives.ResponsibilitiesCreate architectural concepts and designs based on client goals and feedbackPrepare and develop drawings across all project phases, including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailsInterpret and apply building codes, zoning requirements, and accessibility standardsCoordinate with consultants (structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, etc.) to align building systems with design intentManage project budgets and contracts for multiple projectsUpdate and refine designs as project needs evolveReview drawings and provide redlines and quality checksCommunicate with contractors during construction to support design intent and field changesParticipate in internal team meetings and coordination calls with external consultantsQualificationsLicensed ArchitectStrong knowledge of building and accessibility codesSolid understanding of building construction systemsExperience producing architectural documents from concept through constructionAbility to perform space planning, layout studies, and programming supportStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage schedules and budgetsCollaborative, team-oriented mindsetExperience on Retail and Commercial projectsStrong communication and project management skillsProficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft OfficeExperience leading project teams through the construction document phase
