Job Title:Senior Project ManagerDepartment:James | Operations ImprovementScope of Position The CCC-James is committed to continuously improving the quality of care provided to patients as well as the systems supporting research, clinical care, and operations. This position serves as a key component of the Operations Improvement (OI) department. Under the direction of the Director, Operations Improvement, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver projects that span multiple department and business units from planning and overseeing projects within the organization, from the initial ideation through completion. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate people and processes to deliver projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives will monitoring and reporting on the progress throughout the project. The Senior Project Manager will mentor Project Managers on project management methodologies and tools to build consensus in project approaches.The department of Operations Improvement is located at Ackerman Building, 660 Ackerman Road. Projects will entail traveling to anywhere in the James and Ohio State University Medical Complex. The primary working hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm, but these times may shift when working on specific projects. An example of this is facilitating a meeting at 7:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m.Position SummaryThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of complex initiatives that span multiple lines of business and business units from onset through post implementation activities. Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to stage gate quality throughout the lifecycle of the project. This includes managements of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time delivery. The Senior Project Manager will contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery. The Senior Project Manager will provide mentor support to Project Managers on the team, coaching them on project management processes and documentation, answering questions and being a resource. The Senior Project Manager will lead education and training as it relates to project management across The James. The Senior Project Manager serves as a role model in promoting good working relationships across projects, cultivating the skills needed to build trust and communication among all of the project’s stakeholders.Minimum QualificationsFor Hire:Master’s degree in business or related field and at least 6 years of relevant project management experience or Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of relevant project management experience Project management (PMP) certification strongly preferredStrong communication, interpersonal, organizational, active listening and facilitation skillsExperience managing, executing, and sustaining major change initiativesDemonstrated ability to initiate and complete large-scale projectsExcellent writing skills and the ability to identify opportunities to disseminate information in an effective and efficient mannerAdvanced experience in computer applications, including Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Projects), and SharePointProven ability to work independently and as part of a team to build relationships, collaborate, and work in a complex environment to build consensusCareer Roadmap:FUNCTION: Business Planning and OperationsSUB-FUNCTION: Project ManagementCAREER BAND: Individual Contributor - SpecializedCAREER LEVEL: S3Additional Information:Location:Ackerman Rd, 660 (0242)Position Type:RegularScheduled Hours:40Shift:First ShiftFinal candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
