This position also teaches at the law school, mentors students, and will work to strengthen the Center’s role within the law school. This position offers the opportunity to combine leadership, training, and teaching to improve how South Carolina responds to child maltreatment. Join us and contribute to meaningful change in for children, youth, and families, while advancing your professional impact.Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience:Law degree, membership in South Carolina Bar, and minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney in criminal or civil proceedings related to child abuse and neglect. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in both criminal and civil child abuse proceedings is preferred. At least one year administrative or managerial experience is preferred. Training or public speaking experience is strongly preferred. Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Expert knowledge of general and South Carolina statutory and case law related to child abuse and neglect.Thorough knowledge of circuit court procedures.Ability to interpret and apply the law.Considerable knowledge of dynamics and effects of child abuse and neglect.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Academic credentials suitable for teaching law school courses as adjunct instructor.Job Duty:Develops and delivers training programs on child abuse and neglect for multi-disciplinary professionals, including prosecutors, law enforcement officers, and child welfare staff; administers the forensic interviewing training program.Essential Function:YesPercentage of Time:45Job Duty:Provides research and logistical assistance to the S.C.
