Bring your intelligence and creative spirit and join us at MPD!The Communication Software Implementation Department (CSID) develops novel algorithms and prototypes using software defined radios to enable the space enterprise. We are subject matter experts who provide technical advice to our customers on satellite communication systems and use state-of-the-art algorithms to build our customer's future capabilities.Work Model: The selected candidate will be required to work full time on-site at our facility at either El Segundo, CA or Colorado Springs, CO.What You'll Be DoingBuild prototypes for:Classic signal processingArtificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) signal processingDeliver tech demos and briefings to internal stakeholders and to external customersProvide technical guidance and insight to external customersDevelop the department's business network with the customer program officeWhat You Need to be Successful - Engineering SpecialistMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related disciplineMinimum of eight years of related experience with a combination of modern communication system engineering, digital signal processing, or AI/ML comm expertiseExperience with developing within a Linux environmentStrong coding experience in C++, Python, or MatlabThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearanceIn addition to the above, the minimum requirements for Senior Engineering Specialist:Minimum of twelve years of experienceProven technical leadership skills with project leadership from initial concept to project execution or business development experience with the US Government customerDemonstrated mentorship of junior staffHow You Can Stand OutIt would be impressive if you have one or more of these:Software defined radio development (GNU Radio) or experience with USRP or similar SDR platformsExperience with best practices for DevOps and MLOpsPossess an active TS/SCI security clearanceWe offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
