Job Description

The Senior Sales Engineer for Strategic Acquirers is part of the Visa Acceptance Solutions (Cybersource) – North America team. This role requires a blend of sales ability, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of payment technologies, including card present technologies, fraud solutions, and network tokenization. Responsibilities include conducting technical discovery calls, providing proof of value demonstrations, performing technical deep-dives on payment processors, showcasing API-based demonstrations, creating technical architecture diagrams, authoring best practices, and documenting solution requirements across various verticals such as mass transit, retail, and e-commerce. The role also involves pre-sales support, collaborating with internal departments, and attending sales meetings, conferences, and partner events. Light to moderate travel is expected.

This is a hybrid position with in-office days to be confirmed by the hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or
• 5+ years with an advanced degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD, MD), or
• 2+ years with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications

• 9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 7+ with an advanced degree, or 3+ with a PhD.
• 15+ years of technical pre-sales experience in the payment industry, focusing on strategic acquirers and large financial institutions.
• Deep understanding of payment technologies, fraud solutions, and network tokenization.
• Experience working with merchants in mass transit, government, higher education, retail, and e-commerce sectors.
• Knowledge of payment processors and backend processors.
• Ability to engage with senior executives and articulate complex concepts clearly.
• Strong collaboration skills for designing scalable solutions.
• Self-driven, eager to learn, and industry knowledgeable.
• Knowledge of CyberSource / Visa Acceptance solutions and excellent task management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, and troubleshooting skills.
• Technical background with a BS in CS, CIS, or related field.
• Ability to travel up to 35%.
