To learn about Brown University's benefits, visit the University Human Resources web page here for further information.The Research Scientist at the Department of Health Services, Policy & Practice within the School of Public Health is responsible for leading and contributing to projects at a research center focused on understanding and developing policies that increase affordability and value in U.S. healthcare. The incumbent will devise, formulate, and execute investigative protocols and disseminate their insights through the publishing of findings in authoritative publications and documents. This work will address knowledge gaps as to what policies work best to reduce healthcare costs, enhance patient well-being, and drive structural change in U.S. health care delivery. Core topic areas include payment reform, the evolving landscape of Medicare and Medicare Advantage, commercial price growth, health care market structures including the impacts of consolidation and private equity ownership, and state efforts to address affordability and value.
