The person in this position will be deployed as a Chief Engineer for a large contract within L3Harris, responsible for the technical baseline and technical execution of ongoing customer funded efforts for our ground-based radar, optical, and C2 product lines. This includes all phases of development from pre-award concept and initial architecture, through design, testing and verification, and on to production, deployment and operational acceptance. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for directing the execution activities of all functional disciplines for existing programs and new modernization projects.Essential Functions:  Application of knowledge of DoD and IC missions to support operations, maintenance, and sustainment of ground-based radars, optical sensors and C2 solutions.Leadership of systems/software engineering for sensing and decision support capabilities for legacy and emerging threats.Significant technical knowledge and experience designing and manufacturing both ground-based radar and optical systems to include hardware and software solutionsDrive innovation and mission engineering for Space Domain Awareness (SDA) projects to include strategic discriminators along with product line modernizationIdentifies IR&D efforts in alignment with technical roadmaps to create technology differentiatorsLeadership of pursuits with emphasis on technical baseline rigor, cost justification, executability, reuse efficiency, and risk management.Provide mentorship to develop lower-level engineering staff into future SMEsEstablishes program risks/opportunitiesResponsible for technical issue resolution, ensures root cause is identified, and corrective actions are executedQualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
