Senior Software Engineer - Channel Rendering at Klaviyo

About the Team:The Channel Rendering and Engagement (CRE) team is responsible for the high-performance systems that power the rendering, delivery, and engagement tracking of communications across all channels at Klaviyo—including email, SMS, push, and more. We build and maintain the core infrastructure that ensures every message is generated, delivered, and tracked reliably, at scale, and in compliance with industry standards. This role will contribute to architecture and implementation of complex distributed backend services, ensuring high throughput and low latency. Success in this role relies on both technical excellence and the ability to work across teams and roles.How You Will Make a Difference:Own and drive key components of the email pipeline architectureDesign and implement scalable, high-throughput services in GoDevelop systems that manage message queues and email deliveryHelp ensure our systems scale with customer growth, especially as we bring on larger enterprise accountsCollaborate cross-functionally to ensure the highest standards of performance, reliability, and deliverabilityWho You Are:Senior-level backend engineer with strong systems design skillsProficient in Go (required). experience with Python is a plusExperienced working with high-throughput distributed systemsFamiliar with message queues (e.g., Pulsar, Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS)Comfortable working independently on projects from design through productionAble to thrive in a mostly remote team and deliver in a high-autonomy environmentTechnologies We Use:Languages: Go, PythonInfrastructure: AWS, DynamoDB, Kubernetes, TerraformFrameworks: Gin (Go), Django (Python) We use Covey as part of our hiring and / or promotional process.
