Leidos is seeking a talentedSenior Software Engineerto join a multi-disciplinary team within a matrixed organization to create unique solutions for complex problems specifically regarding missile defense systems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense space cyber and commercial fields Leidos provides responsive cost-effective engineering scientific and IT solutions.TheSenior Software Engineer will support the software lifecycle of complex software systems. This includes developing software in a Linux environment using languages like C or Python. The selected candidate will develop in an Agile Scrum environment with DevSecOps. The selected candidate will collaborate with multiple stakeholders and utilize software best practices.Primary Responsibilities:Developing software for use in a Linux environmentDeveloping software in an Agile Scrum environment using Jira and GitlabCollaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to implement desired software functionalityUtilizing software best practices such as peer reviewing and unit testingDebugging and troubleshooting software in a HWIL settingBasic QualificationsA Bachelors degree in Software Engineering Computer Science Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 12 years of experience or an MS with 10 yearsStrong competency in at least C/C PythonExperience with software engineering throughout the software lifecycleExperience with software best practices such as peer reviews automated testing and document generationExperience collaborating with other functional groups (systems engineering electrical engineering test etc.) to create a software productExperience working within an Agile environment (or equivalent)Experience using tools such as Jira and Gitlab (or equivalent)Experience developing within Qt IDE (or equivalent)Experience developing in a Linux environmentFamiliarity troubleshooting/testing software in an HWIL environmentMust be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret ClearancePreferred QualificationsPreferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge with:Experience with buildroot and VMWareExperience using Wireshark and developing software that sends communications over a network (UDP/TCP)Supporting and maintaining CI/CD pipelinesDoD acquisition processes and methodsResident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama AL areaIf youre looking for comfort keep scrolling.
