Senior Software Engineering Manager at Experian

Financial Services Division (FSD) Engineering team is looking for an Engineering leader that can excel in a non-traditional environment working with the latest of the Cloud and Big Data analytics ecosystem. Data is the currency in todays world and in this role you will be at the forefront of a digital transformation. Reporting to the Director of Software Development we are looking for a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead the development and operations of our real-time API platform a critical component that powers mission-critical integrations across our ecosystem. You will manage a high-performing team of engineers responsible for designing building and scaling available low-latency APIs that support millions of transactions per day. We ask that you have a balance of technical depth and people leadership.What youll do:You will lead engineering teams building platform capabilities and solutions for our clients using Experian bureau data and other 3rd party data. Your team will work on important projects to accelerate the development training testing and deployment of solutions for clients by providing a self-service intuitive UI. You will build data pipelines at scale for our batch clients and integrating with 3rd party providers for our real-time clients.Additional responsibilities include:Team LeadershipLead and mentor a team of software engineers encouraging an inclusive engineering cultureYoull manage hiring performance management and career development for your teamPlatform OwnershipOversee the architecture design and implementation of real-time APIs with a focus on scalability reliability and latencyYou will create platform evolution including modernization observability and CI/CD best practicesChampion Service level agreements and incident response for platform servicesTechnical StrategyCollaborate with Architects and Principal Engineers to define the long-term vision and roadmap for the API platformEnsure the team follows software engineering best practices including testing code reviews and documentationGuide the use of latest technologies that support real-time processing event streaming and performance optimizationCollaborationWork with Product Management DevOps and other engineering teams to align technical plans with our goalsPartner with security compliance and infrastructure teams to ensure platform meets regulatory and operational standardsDelivery & ExecutionManage the delivery lifecycle of major platform plansTrack important performance metrics (availability latency throughput) and ensure continuous improvementManage the delivery of insightful dashboards and data visualizationsIdentify risks early and implement mitigation strategiesQualifications : Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field8 years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in engineering leadership rolesProven experience managing real-time high-throughput API platforms in production environmentsKnowledge of distributed systems cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern backend stacks (e.g. Java Go or Python)Experience with API gateways load balancing caching and observability tools (Kibana Grafana Datadog and Prometheus)Familiarity with event-driven architectures message queues (Kafka) and stream processing frameworksExperience developing ML Ops capabilitiesData Science & ML experienceDevOps Knowledge: Docker and KubernetesAdditional Information : Benefits/Perks:Great compensation package and bonus planCore benefits including full medical dental vision and matching 401KFlexible schedule ability to work remotely hybrid or in-officeFlexible time off including volunteer time off vacation sick and 12-paid holidaysAt Experian our people and culture set us apart.
