Grow. with KBR!KBRs National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security this position your work will have a profound impact on the countrys most critical role protecting our national security.Why Join UsInnovative Projects: KBRs work is at the forefront of engineering logistics operations science program management mission IT and cybersecurity solutions.Collaborative Environment: Be part of a dynamic team that thrives on collaboration and innovation fostering a supportive and intellectually stimulating workplace.Impactful Work: Your contributions will be pivotal in designing and optimizing defense systems that ensure national security and shape the future of space defense.Key Responsibilities:The Senior Space System Engineer- Ground will be a Hybrid role and must be onsite in Chantilly VA a few days a week.Supports design interpretation and analysis of technical solutions to complex projectsLeads or supports technical programs projects or tasks whose technical complexity requires engineering rigureEnsures completion of programs projects or tasks within given time frames and budget constraintsProvides input to the government customer concerning risks to performance schedule and budget given proposed contractor plans or contractors execution of accepted plansEnsure the quality of the program project or task deliverables meet or exceed standards or metrics and assesses such deliverables to ensure that the final deliverables will meet the warfighting purpose for which they are intendedPlans and performs engineering research design development and other engineering assignments in conformance with the design engineering and customer specificationsResponsible for the overall technical/engineering portions (ground) of major projects or programsCoordinates with multiple stakeholders to ensure system engineering communities support delivery milestonesTracks and advises design trades and associated cost schedule and technical impacts to requirementsWork on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and perform all functional duties independentlyOversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific jobTranslate complex ideas and data into simple actionable recommendations or easily differentiated courses of actionCommunicate clearly concisely and with technical accuracy - oral and writtenWork Environment:Location: On-site a few days a week Hybrid role must be able to commute to Chantilly VATravel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%Working Hours: StandardQualifications:Required:Minimum 15 years DoD/IC or relevant industry work experienceKnowledge of space system engineering development and manufacturing emphasis on groundExceptional qualifications in development and fielding satellite systemsUnderstanding of space operational ground environment and corresponding mission user needs5 years Experience in DoD program management including program acquisition development and transitionExperience working with and using Integrated Master Schedules and risk management toolsExperience developing requirement for and writing Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS)B.S. in STEM degreeDesired:Ten (10) years of relevant DoD/IC and/or Industry work experience with SAP and/or SCISystem Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to Government program officeExperience with rapid prototypingExperience with integrated air space ground and cyberspace capabilitiesExperience developing deploying and maintaining ground mission infrastructure and softwareExperience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programsExperience in planning and executing test campaigns for space systemsFluency with IC organizationsM.S. in STEM degreeScheduled Weekly Hours: 40hrsBasic Compensation:The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge skills abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.Additional Compensation:KBR may offer bonuses commissions or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation.
