We are driven by our core values: respect innovation and collaboration. About the RoleThe Senior Specialist - Internal Events is an integral part of Lathams Events Sponsorships & Travel team. This role will be responsible for providing assistance to the Internal Events team to run a successful events program for Latham staff and attorneys while planning and managing multiple event projects either individually or in collaboration with other team members throughout the year from initial conception to onsite execution and post-event reporting.This role will be located in either our Global Services Office (Downtown Los Angeles) or our Chicago office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence and will also require frequent travel to attend events as necessary.Responsibilities & QualificationsOther key responsibilities include:Working closely with key stakeholders to coordinate all details of events including members of Business Development TACE (Training and Career Enhancement) practice group chairs and othersEnsuring best practice across all events to maintain the high quality service our internal clients expectProviding accurate and timely completion of assignments and inquiry responses ensuring that all tasks and duties are completed within the firms set guidelines and policiesAssisting in training and mentoring junior event staffPromoting effective work practices working as a team member and showing respect for co-workers Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive confidential privileged financial and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retainsWed love to hear from you if you:Display well-developed and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all organizational levels of the firmDemonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a client-service focusPossess strong attention to detail even under pressureAnd have:A bachelors degree or equivalentA minimum of three (3) years of experience in an events-focused role preferablyA minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience preferablyExperience with Cvent or other event management software preferablyAn events qualification preferablyBenefits & Additional InformationSuccessful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
