Our purpose: Bringing quality safety and sustainability to life.What are we looking forTheSeniorStaffEngineer position isresponsible for providing technical expertise to personnel and operations at the local or regional level; for recommending and managing capital expenditure projects; and for assessing and developing local training. This position is the primary resource for review and approval of test procedures methods and interpretations. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.Salary & Benefits InformationThe base wage or salary range for this position is $100K - $130K. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set experience qualifications and other job-related addition to competitive compensation packages Intertek employees are eligible for a variety of benefits including paid time off paid holidays paid parental leave medical plan options dental vision life and disability insurance a 401(k) plan with company matching tuition reimbursement and more.What youll do:Listed examples are illustrative and representative of the tasks required of this position and are not intended to be complete or exclusive.Provide local management with technical assessment of engineering skills and performance levelsResponsible for assessing training of the technical staff and development of new training programsProvide on-going support and guidance on technical issues test procedures and standards interpretationsProvide quotes for a large array of standards and complex projects and productsResearch new standards technologies and trends in standardsRepresent Intertek on technical committees code panels and/or associationsSupport accreditations activities such as audit follow-up and corrective actions. Investigate technical complaints.Provide complex sales support such as giving presentations during client visitsProvide on-going support to clients as neededRecommend and prepare capital expenditure requests and manage capital projectsMentor less senior technical staffPerform other work asrequiredApplicants will be required to complete an I-9 to verify their eligibility to work in the U.S.Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:Bachelorsdegree in engineering.6 years directly related experience.Advanced experience with U.S. Canadian and other international product safety standards i.e. ANSI CSA UL EN IECAbility to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practicalproblems.Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently where limited standardizationexists.Ability to work in fast-paced multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload with efficient time management.Excellent communication skills in verbal written and presentation formatsAbility to travel 15% isrequiredValid driverslicense and reliable driving recordPreferred Requirements & Qualifications:Masters degree in engineering8 years of experience in a directly related field/industry.Prior project management experience in a work environmentExperience with batter standards such as UL 9540 UL 9540A UL 1973 etc.Experiencewith inverter standards such as UL 1741 IEEE 1547 IEC 62109 etc.Experience with utility interactive inverters and/or power conversion equipmentProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseIntertek Total Quality AssuredIntertek is a world leader in the Quality Assurance market with a proven high-quality business model and a global network of customer-focused operations and highly engaged subject matter experts.
