WORK DESCRIPTIONAustin Energys System Protection Engineering team is seeking a System Analyst III to support data analytics, reporting, automation, process documentation, and engineering operations. This role requires someone who can independently deliver reporting solutions, automate workflows, support SharePoint enhancements, and partner with engineers to manage technical datasets. The ideal candidate must translate engineering concepts into structured, meaningful reports and dashboards, perform data manipulation and automation, and build light application components (SharePoint, Power Automate, Python) needed to support internal workflows. This includes shaping raw engineering data into usable formats, developing reporting frameworks, and creating repeatable processes that enable the team to make data-driven decisions.Essential duties and functions include the following:Enhance engineering operations through data analytics, report development, automation, and documentationBuild, update,and maintain dashboards and performance visuals using Power BIDevelop and maintain the System Protection Engineering SharePoint site, including forms,workflows, and documentation repositoriesBuild Power Automate flows for engineering processesPerform Python-based data cleanup, automation, and back-end accessAssist with internal project coordination and engineering operations supportCreate process documentation, SOPs, and workflow diagramsEnsure compliance with Austin Energy Records Management and Data Governance policiesOther related duties and functions may be assignedWORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSMinimum (Required): Years and Skills/Experience8+ years' Experience as a DataAnalyst, Reports Developer, or Business Systems Analyst.8+ years' Advanced MS Excel skills including PivotTables, formulas, and (preferred) VBA/macros.8+ years' Experience with Power BI8+ years' Maintaining and enhancing SharePoint sites.8+ years' Experience documenting workflows and processes.PREFERREDYears and Skills/Experience1 year experience with utilityengineering datasets suchas substation, transmission, and distribution systems.1 year experience Exposure to NERC,ERCOT, FERC, andTexas PUC regulatory environments.2 years' experience Python for automation, data cleanup, and backend dataaccess2 years' experience with Power Automate.WORK HOURS AND LOCATIONWork hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM (Hours may be flexible).This positionis a hybrid position and will requireone (1) day, in officeper week (Monday).
