Our Mission Vision and Values guide the way we do business.Your greatest work is ahead!Leidos Defense Systems Land Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead a team of systems engineers manufacturing a Hypersonics this role the Senior Systems Engineer will lead the current systems engineering effort and identify engineering efficiencies that will help set the program up for success for follow-on work by interfacing with the Hardware Development Team Integration Team Test Team etc. This Senior Systems Engineer will help develop and review systems engineering artifacts including Requirements Specifications Manufacturing Procedures Engineering Reports and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) content. It is an expectation for this role that the Senior Systems Engineer will start the effort with direct tasking from the current Lead Systems Engineer but will take over the effort and move into a more autonomous role.The Senior Systems Engineer will work in a matrixed organization which supports multiple programs at once in a variety of engineering fields with all different team environments. When the Hypersonics program ends the Senior Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to support a different program in the matrixed engineering portfolio. A candidate with experience in other engineering areas such as Test Model-Based Systems Engineering Human Factors Risk Management and Reliability Analysis will be treated preferentially. A Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering Software Engineering Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 12 years of experience or an MS with 10 years.Experience in deriving requirements for integration manufacturing and production systems.Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama AL area.Possess a secret clearance or have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.Preferred Qualifications. Preferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge with:Manufacturing processes and proceduresMagicDraw and/or other Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) modeling toolsDemonstrated experience effectively leading a team of engineers.Demonstrated cross-discipline collaboration.Demonstrated experience accurately estimating the engineering effort (i.e. hours) associated with Systems Engineering tasks.DOORS and/or other requirements database toolsUnderstanding of the DoD acquisition processes and methodsExperience supporting one or more DoD programsObject Management Group (OMG) Certified System Modeler Professional (OCSMP) certificationINCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification (ASEP or CSEP)If youre looking for comfort keep scrolling.
