Job DescriptionJob description:Job Title: Senior Systems Security Engineer (IAT Level III, T5 Clearance)Location: Dahlgren, VA (primary) and Virginia Beach, VAClearance Required: T5 / IAT III (Top Secret / SCI eligibility preferred)CONTINGENCY NOTICE—*This role is contingent upon contract award.*Overview:The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Security Engineer to provide advanced IT security and systems support across classified and unclassified networks. NSWCDD delivers cutting-edge warfare systems to protect our nation and advance future fleet capabilities. This position will support IT operations at NSWCDD Dahlgren and Dam Neck Activity, ensuring compliance with DoD, Navy, and NAVSEA cybersecurity standards.Key Responsibilities:Conduct vulnerability and risk analysis across classified and unclassified systems.Implement DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and perform SCAP scans.Perform system accreditation, audits, and TEMPEST testing in accordance with current National TEMPEST Standards.Detect and mitigate malware, viruses, and other detrimental software threats.Lead IT security operations to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.Support lifecycle management of IT systems including installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.Collaborate with NSWCDD IT and technical departments to implement modern, automated IT solutions aligned with the Command’s ITSM objectives.Required Qualifications:Minimum 6 years of professional IT security experience with DoD or Navy systems.Extensive experience with system accreditation, audits, risk assessment, vulnerability scanning, and TEMPEST testing.Expertise in DISA STIGs, SCAP scanning, malware/virus detection, and security compliance.IAT Level III certification with T5 clearance eligibility.Preferred Qualifications:Top Secret / SCI clearance.Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH).Experience with IT service management (ITSM) practices and digital transformation initiatives.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceWork Location: Hybrid remote in Dahlgren, VA 22448CONTINGENCY NOTICE—*This role is contingent upon contract award.*
