Job Description
The Senior Technician works on customer sites in a variety of environments including new construction remodels and operating facilities. A Senior Technician is also responsible for complying with Encore standards for Safety Culture and Customer Service.Compensation for this Position: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour plus additional job site incentiveGeneral ResponsibilitiesWorks with a commitment to safetyUpholds the core values of Encore ElectricActs as a professional and uses basic work ethics.Comes to work on time every day with appropriate attire and tools.Keeps work area clean.Installs quality work in a neat and workmanship like manner.Treats tools with respectWorks and climbs on ladders lifts and elevated platforms.Identifies technology parts and components.Performs strenuous physical work i.e. digging kneeling shoveling lifting pulling pushing climbing.Keeps up with changing technology.Wears tools at all required timesWorks in all weather conditionsSpecific Responsibilities:Must be capable of conducting and or participating in morning huddles safety talks trade walks meetings etc.Ability to communicate and work alongside design teams and engineers for successful execution of projectsWork independently or as part of a team able and willing to take direction and execute those directives effectively and efficientlyDemonstrate a basic understanding of construction administration processesMust thoroughly understand the project schedule scope of work bill of materials jobsite budget project specifications and specific jobsite requirementsPerforms regular QA/QC checks to ensure product meets specifications and standards.Communicate with Owner General Contractor Supervisor and other trades frequently regarding the progress and coordination of the project to ensure the most efficient and satisfactory installation possibleCommunicate with the Project Manager any changes or impacts to the project immediatelyAlong with the Project Manager develop proactive and trusted relationships with Owner Client General Contractor and other trade partners in relation to installation and installation scheduleLead all onsite installation testing and commissioningFrequently analyze project requirements as needed may include manpower materials safety equipment and special project needsResponsible for protection and preservation of all stored equipment/tools/materialParticipate in required jobsite Safety Meeting and HuddlesUnderstand and follow safety guidelines if working with others ensure they are also working in a safe mannerAssist Manager of Safety and Health in performing job hazard analysisEnsure project closeouts are performed effectively and on timeParticipates in training and mentoring of junior staffDemonstrate consistency in jobsite requirements leading by exampleStart and Stop TimesBreak TimesPPE RequirementsOther jobsite requirements or rulesAbility to complete specific training licensing and certifications as needed/directedCompetence to complete job on or before deadline as well as under bid/budgetSpecific Responsibilities for Structured Cabling Senior TechRead and interpret detailed specifications and drawings blueprints schematics and method of procedures (MOPs)Demonstrated knowledge of closet build outsInstalling various cable types including low voltage power fiber twisted pair audio video and DAS and security. Inside and Outside plantUse a variety of connector types and terminate to industry standardsTerminate indoor and outdoor fiber using the appropriate methods and following industry standardsTesting copper and fiber using industry approved testers. The physical requirements can often be completed repetitively and for extended periods of time.
