Senior Test Technician at Element Materials Technology

OverviewElement has an opportunity for a Senior Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team the Senior Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.Salary: $26- $38/hr DOEResponsibilitiesMechanical testing of polymer and metallic materialsInterpretation of internal and client requirementsOperating complex mechanical testing equipmentMaintaining accurate and systematic recordsPerforming other duties to fulfil the demands of the laboratoryPerforming general duties in accordance with Elements internal procedures Quality as well as Health and Safety systemApplication of instrumentation and the setting up of complex data capture equipmentReport writing data interpretation and analysisSkills / QualificationsEducated to a good general standard including English and MathAssociates Degree level or equivalent in mechanical or materials science or another relevant materials related disciplineHands-on jobExperience of working within a mechanical testing environment is advantageousAn understanding of a recognized Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is beneficialWorking knowledge of ASTM ISO or equivalent mechanical testing standardsSelf motivated Test Technician with the ability to multi task organize and work under the pressure of a busy commercial mechanical test laboratoryExcellent attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsA team player attitudeExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsOther Skills and Abilities:Possesses the ability to perform lower to intermediate complex testing.Ability to work alone the majority of the work day; only requiring assistance for clarification or confirmation of test procedures.Effectively manages time and practices accountability for the testing to be performed.Ability to take testing projects from start to finish completing each step properly.Ability to hold team members and peer technicians accountable for the testing requirements.Advanced ability to read and understand customer specifications and perform the testing required in accordance with customer specifications.Ability to construct and maintain test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order based on client needs.Ability to maintain and repair equipment.Ensures timely and accurate results with little supervision and technical input.Diversity StatementAt Element we always take pride in putting our people first.
